The Institute for Research on the Palace Museum Collection's Evacuation to the South is devoted to cataloguing and researching archives and documentary materials related to the Palace Museum collection’s evacuation to the South, scientifically preserving and utilizing historical sites and artifacts of the evacuation, and exploring developmental avenues for representations and artistic creations of the evacuation. Rooted in the Museum’s academic and research resources, the institute objectively restores contextual and factual details of the evacuation and comprehensively probes the historical context and collection status of cultural relics associated with the evacuation. By way of inter-museum exchange and project collaboration, the institute promotes scientific preservation and active utilization of historical sites and artifacts related to the evacuation, realistically represents the spirit of the sites and historical memories of the evacuation, and earnestly employs the Palace Museum’s ability to preserve human memories and continue the legacy of the national spirit.
