The Institute of Film and Television is a non-organizational research and creative group affiliated to the Palace Museum Academy. This institute is staffed primarily by researchers and creative individuals of the Palace Museum. Under the guidance of the Palace Museum Academy, the institute combines academic resources and cooperates with television stations and film studios using film and television to organize, strategize, and record video productions on Palace Museum themes in line with current approaches in a comprehensive, imaginative, three-dimensional display and transmission of the allure of Palace Museum culture by means of key products. To present major events such as the sixth centennial of the construction of the Forbidden City and the evacuation to the South of the Palace Museum’s collection, the institute is producing documentaries and other videographic works while supporting the Museum’s Department of Publicity through regular productions.
