The Collection Management Department administers the collection registration and the coordination between curatorial and other departments in the Palace Museum. The primary duties of this department are as follows: assist the Museum’s administrators establish goals and parameters for museum-wide collection management; implement collection management regulations; manage the museum-wide registration of all pieces in the collection; ensure the protection of all materials and documentation regarding the collection; assess the management of all pieces in the collection; oversee all collections entering or leaving the museum; supervise outgoing and incoming loans; process museum acquisitions and donations; organize authentication activities; evaluate the state of collection pieces; deliver reports on the state of the collection to the Museum director; organize and supervise collection storehouses; review the assignment of key posts in relevant undertakings; and coordinate with internal curatorial departments and external cooperative partners in the exhibition of collection pieces.
