The Department of IT, Imaging, and Digital Media is responsible for the development of the online “Digital Palace Museum” (hence the abbreviation for the Museum’s official website, www.dpm.org.cn). The primary duties of this department include the following: collect and store digital information regarding all aspects of the museum; manage digital information; administrate the Museum’s digital and online communications platform, digital storage, and information management; train museum-wide IT personnel; provide technical and practice training for museum-wide personnel; administrate the collection, editing, storage, and use of all digital video, audio, images, and text; cooperate with the Museum’s administration in developing professional applications of digital systems and technology; manage the content, data collection, editing, production, release, and needed technologies in the development and maintenance of the Museum’s website and digital displays; and provide services for all IT, imaging, and technical needs.
