The Office of International Exchange

The Foreign Affairs Department is responsible for communications and collaborative programs between the Palace Museum and foreign institutions (including those in Taiwan and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau). As the administration of external liaison of the Palace Museum, the department is primarily responsible for the following duties: builds regulations on international businesses; plan and budget annual international activities; manage museum-wide foreign affairs; handle applications for work involving foreign nationals; formulate regulations regarding foreign affairs; plan and budget for yearly work strategies that involve foreign affairs; organize communications, cooperative efforts, and professional training with foreign institutions and those in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan; coordinate foreign language communications and translation projects; manage communications for cooperative exhibitions with foreign entities; organize and host visiting delegations and individuals from foreign countries and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan; administrate necessary operations for cooperative efforts and joint or loan exhibitions between the Museum and foreign museums and cultural entities; and assist in organizing bilateral and multilateral international conferences, programs, and scholarly exchange.
