The Conservation Standards Department is responsible for  research into basic theories and standards in the field of cultural heritage protection, as well as drafting, revising and promoting related standards. It is a participant in the construction of China-Greece Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Cultural Heritage Conservation Technology and serves as the secretariat of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage Conservation.
