Underglaze Polychrome Porcelain of the Liling Kiln of Hunan Province
Archaeological finds and studies reveal that Liling started firing potteries no later than the Han dynasty (206 BCE-220 CE). Celadon and white porcelain excavated from Liling kiln complex date back to the Song and Yuan dynasties (960-1368). The underglaze polychrome porcelain that first successfully manufactured in the late Qing dynasty (1644-1911) is regarded as a gorgeous blossom in the garden of China\'s ceramics. The exhibition comprises four sections showing seventy-one selected pieces (sets) of Liling underglaze polychrome porcelain that represent the highest level of Liling porcelain manufacture at different periods of time.
