On May 1, 2019, the 2019 Beijing Olympic Expo at the Forbidden City, with the theme of "Innovation and Heritage – the Best of the Olympic games", is grandly held at the Palace Museum.

The Beijing Olympic Expo 2019 at the Forbidden City is an international Olympic event hosted by the Samaranch Foundation in collaboration with the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage and supported by the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Chinese Olympic Committee, and the Palace Museum.

This exhibition aims to promote Olympic legacies, serve as a taster for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games and foster the development of the Olympic Movement in China.
